NNE helped Merz Group Services plan and execute a GMP upgrade of its non-sterile dosage form plant without interrupting production.
How can you ensure production remains smooth while revamping and upgrading a production facility? This was the challenge facing Merz Group Services in Germany – and NNE’s engineering and construction management expertise was key to meeting the challenges.
Merz Group Services needed to make its non-sterile dosage forms (liquids, creams, solids) production facility fully GMP compliant, and it was imperative that the project did not interrupt production. Merz Group Services asked NNE for support in planning and execution – and to help maintain existing production throughout the project so that the facility would continue to meet market demand.
Close cooperation for smooth project execution
In such a project – with the facility and technology in use throughout – all teams must be ready to react quickly. NNE coordinated closely with the production, construction and installation teams to make sure this happened.
If, for example, there is a sudden rise in demand, the facility has to be able to meet demand, without delaying the upgrade project. In cases like these, NNE produces several scenarios each with its own risk assessments. This enabled Merz Group Services to make the best possible decision, without losing sight of the project’s overall goals.
