Personal and company ambitions drive development

From his very first day, Daniel felt NNE had the right working environment to fulfill his personal ambitions. Now, nine months into his journey, he shares his reflections on what characterizes NNE as a workplace.

For a long time, I wanted to go into consulting to see whether I would thrive and succeed in the consulting world. But simultaneously, I wanted to stay within something I knew, namely pharma. NNE has a good reputation in both areas. I knew NNE as a consulting company with an emphasis on pharma and engineering, so I was quite sure it would be a great match for me. And so far, I haven’t been proved wrong.

I feel like I can fulfill my personal ambitions at NNE. It’s a very inclusive company, in the way that you are included on equal terms from your first day of employment – you don’t have a long introduction or “trial” period where you slowly learn the ropes. On the contrary, you are allowed to do real project work from day one.

On the very first day of employment, for example, I was involved in a proposal for one of our customers – and actually took the lead on it a couple of days after. It really means a lot to feel that level of trust and encouragement from management.

Development on the agenda

There is both a desire and a willingness from the company to support personal development and growth. If I say to my manager that I would like to try something new or participate in a conference or whatever, the answer is always “go do”. There’s a lot of freedom to develop my skills in the direction that I want – and it’s always a topic in my one-to-one meetings with my manager.

Daniel Ringgaard

I recently participated in a "Drive your passion" workshop, which aims to inspire and provide tools to take charge of your own development. Overall, the company’s focus on growth and development is very visible – and acknowledged by the employees. It’s not just “corporate bullshit”. In fact, there is very little of that here - you can always expect top management to answer questions honestly and communicate transparently.

One thing that has surprised me about NNE, is the fact that there is so much emphasis on cross-disciplinary work and communication. There is a push from management to learn from others – also from outside of NNE. There is a clear ambition to gain knowledge, be inspired, and not be afraid to challenge our own ideas. For instance, a colleague and I were working on an initiative for exploring and creating a new business opportunity – and I received an email from the CEO to acknowledge our efforts. It’s really cool to be a part of a company with high ambitions for both the business itself and for employees.
