Shaping the future of pharma facilities as logistics engineer

Berit Nielsen is logistics engineer at NNE, where she puts her experience within supply chain planning to use. Below she shares her perspective on the role as logistics engineer in a consulting engineering company.

What is it like to work as a consulting logistics engineer at NNE?

I have always had a strong motivation for working in the field of optimization and new ways of working within Supply Chain. Changing into consultancy, I have experienced that I can still utilize and build on my Supply Chain Optimization-mindset in the projects.

I like the dialog with customers, understanding their needs and identifying challenges and solutions. Sometimes you may even identify optimization possibilities, that they might not have discovered themselves, which is very satisfying – and makes the customer happy, too.

What does it take to be a logistics engineer at NNE?

Firstly, a clear advantage is understanding the processes and the flow of materials through a GMP production facility. Secondly, is the outlook and curiosity into new warehouse and logistic solutions. Thirdly, I think you need to be very adaptable to changes in your everyday work.

What do you find most enjoyable about your role?

It’s super interesting to be a part of so many different projects that’s shaping the future of pharmaceutical facilities. Also, I have never worked in consulting before, and I really enjoy the dynamics both in NNE and in the various project phases.

What is it like working in the Architecture & Design department?

Busy and interesting. If you have never worked with architects before, it’s an interesting new world to enter. I came from the world of Supply Chain Planning and upfront you don’t need to be “fluent” in architecture, but simply having the willingness to understand the discipline and the mechanisms in drawings, will get you far.

Why should people apply to this job?

NNE offers a dynamic work environment where you are constantly developing. If people come from either the pharmaceutical industry and/or warehouse logistic design, my question would rather be, why not apply and become my new colleague
