Jakob has an educational background in Food Science with PhD in Food Technology/ Chemometrics. He has a long experience in applied data analysis in various industries. He has worked with companies within pharma, biotech, food, feed and chemical industry to obtain improved product and process understanding and optimization, using DOE and MVDA.

What's your view on the industry?

"A lot of opportunities remains to get more values out of obtained data. Specially in pharma production, huge amount of data is stored and not necessarily used. Exploring and using these data for better control and optimization, can lead to real time release and manufacturing intelligence solutions. Relevant tools can be Six Sigma statistics, simple visualization and/or more advanced multivariate data analysis or machine learning techniques. Not implemented as black-box modelling but in dialog with the SMEs."

Why do you work in this business?

"To explore the opportunities and help towards a more data driven approach in pharma. Both the challenges and the financial fundament exist to get pharma into Industry 4.0 domain."
