Challenging is interesting

Senior GMP Consultant, Florian Köller, gives us his perspective on the complex work of GMP application.

Why work in GMP Consultancy?

I wanted to get to know other companies and adapt to their methods and ideas but I also desired an external view on these companies. One of the big advantages is that if customers hire us as a consultant, we come with a fresh pair of eyes to analyse the situation. When it comes to GMP, customers will always need us. Their reality is changing and they can’t always see it or don’t know how to handle GMP regulations so we must be experts in this field to help them.

Do you feel you have grown in your role at NNE?

I feel great personal and professional growth in my field. There is no GMP training in university, so it is a field in which you must grow and improve as you learn it. You must actively educate yourself and ask questions. I participate in external courses as well. I was working in the QA team for one of our medical devices customers so I chose to attend a course for medical devices and quality management systems.

"Competitors in Germany often come from more of an engineering background and slowly adapt to the pharmaceutical industry. But here at NNE, we are the children of large pharmaceutical companies. So we just know the business better."

Florian Köller

For me, the most interesting work is also the most challenging. I don’t like routine work; I like studying and figuring out what is the appropriate solution for a specific customer. We must adapt very quickly to customers’ quality management systems and work fluidly with them to find the best and most pragmatic solution. Sometimes customers are so focused on their quality management systems that they are blind to the best solution and we provide that for them.

What makes you proud to be a part of NNE?

We have a focus on the pharmaceutical industry and medical devices and this separates us from the competition. Competitors in Germany often come from more of an engineering background and slowly adapt to the pharmaceutical industry. But here at NNE, we are the children of large pharmaceutical companies. So we just know the business better.
